Students master the content, form, and function of formal and informal business communications, including email, memoranda, proposals and reports, as well as good will, bad news and routine messages. Special emphasis is placed on intercultural communications and the selection of proper electronic or paper media.

ENGL 313W: Writing for Business and Industry in a computer lab. Students encounter the formats and requirements of the most frequently used business documents and reports. Special attention is given to intercultural and interpersonal relationships in the writing of such documents.

ENG 100: Basic Principals of Composition, ENG 101: Freshman Composition I and ENG 102: Freshman Composition II in computer labs and enhanced via Blackboard and AT&T Internet pages. In the first two levels, students apply pre-writing strategies and various modes of writing to drafting and revising essays while refining their grammar, sentence structure and punctuation. In ENG 102, students produce argument-driven research papers.

CORE 102: Imaginative Literature and Critical Writing, offered each Spring, introduces students to literature in English and offers frameworks for approaching, reading, and writing about literature in a critical and active fashion.
